  • Community Engagement and Fundraising Coordinator

    Responsibilities:


    1. Secure Drop-off Locations

    Identify and establish partnerships with businesses, schools, and community centers to serve as drop-off locations for Pajama Jams' annual drives.

    Ensure drop-off locations are well-equipped with collection bins and promotional materials.


    Maintain regular communication with drop-off location partners to provide necessary support and information.


    2. Secure Sponsors and Donations:

    Actively seek out potential sponsors, donors, and community partners to support Pajama Jams' initiatives.


    Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and individuals interested in contributing to the cause.


    Collaborate with the fundraising team to create sponsorship packages and fundraising campaigns.


    3. Grant Writing and Research:

    Research grant opportunities from various sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

    Write compelling grant proposals and applications, emphasizing Pajama Jams' mission, impact, and specific funding needs.


    Maintain a database of grant opportunities, application deadlines, and outcomes.


    Collaborate with the fundraising team to ensure grant applications align with overall fundraising strategies.


    Qualifications:


    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent research and writing abilities.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
    • Knowledge of fundraising techniques and grant writing (preferred but not required).
    • Passion for Pajama Jams' mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

    Time Commitment: The time commitment for this role can vary but is estimated at approximately 5-10 hours per week, depending on ongoing projects and grant application deadlines. Flexibility in scheduling is possible to accommodate volunteers' availability.

  • Community Relations & Event Coordinator Volunteer

    Role Description: 


    As a Community Relations & Event Coordinator Volunteer with Pajama Jams, you play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our annual Pajama Drive and other community initiatives. Your primary responsibility is to establish and maintain relationships with our drop-off locations, ensuring they have all the necessary supplies and information to conduct a successful drive. Here's an overview of your responsibilities:


    Key Responsibilities:


    • Liaison with Drop-Off Locations: Act as the primary point of contact for our drop-off locations. Provide them with all required materials, including collection bins, posters, and information packets. Ensure they understand the drive's details, logistics, and goals.
    • Supply Management: Keep track of inventory and supplies needed for the drive. Ensure that all drop-off locations have an adequate supply of materials, and replenish them as necessary.
    • Information Dissemination: Educate drop-off locations about the drive's purpose, target audience (sizes 5T to Adult XXL), and collection period. Clarify any questions or concerns they may have.
    • Collection Coordination: Organize the collection of donated pajamas from drop-off locations. Ensure that pajamas are picked up promptly and securely transported to a central storage location.
    • Distribution Planning: Collaborate with schools and other organizations to distribute collected pajamas to children in need. Organize and oversee the logistics of these distributions.
    • Counting and Sorting: Assist in counting, sorting, and categorizing the donated pajamas by size and gender to ensure efficient distribution.
    • Sponsor and Donor Management: Maintain a comprehensive list of sponsors and donors, acknowledging their contributions and ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve.

    • Reliable transportation for pickup and delivery of pajama donations.

  • Distribution Event Volunteer

    Our mission is to provide comfort and hope to children in need by distributing new pajamas. Our Distribution Event Volunteers play a vital role in bringing smiles and warmth to these young hearts.


    Responsibilities:


    • Assist in organizing and preparing pajama sets for distribution.
    • Greet children warmly, ensuring a compassionate and supportive environment.
    • Help children select pajamas in their preferred sizes, making the experience personalized and special.
    • Provide information about Pajama Jams and our mission, spreading awareness and fostering connections within the community.
    • Maintain a neat and organized distribution area.
    • Must purchase and wear an official Pajama Jams t-shirt during all distribution events.

    Requirements:

    • Compassionate and friendly demeanor, especially around children.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
    • Respect for diverse backgrounds and cultures.
    • Reliable and punctual attendance during scheduled distribution events.

    Time Commitment:


    Distribution events typically occur in the second week of December and are finished before December 15th, though they are not limited to this period. Dates vary based on need and month. Each event last approximately 2-3 hours.

    As a Pajama Jams Count & Sort Volunteer, you'll play a vital role in organizing and preparing the pajamas for distribution.


    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Pajama Jams Count & Sort Coordinator to count, sort, and rubberband pajamas based on size and gender.
    • Occasionally assist in selecting specific sizes for community partners, ensuring their unique needs are met.
    • Work closely with the team to ensure accurate inventory records are maintained.
    • Engage in preparing pajamas for distribution events, ensuring they are ready to bring smiles to children's faces.
    • May involve assisting in pajama deliveries, requiring access to a car for transportation.

    Time Commitment:


    The Pajama Jams Count & Sort event typically lasts for 3-4 hours.


    Requirements:

    • Attention to detail and organizational skills to accurately sort and categorize pajamas.
    • Physical ability to handle bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
    • Access to a car for potential pajama deliveries to partners.
    • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during sorting events.

  • Volunteer Blogger and Article Writer - Kids' Health, Sleep, and Wellness

    Responsibilities:


    1. Content Creation:

    Generate engaging and informative blog posts, articles, and content related to kids' health, sleep, wellness, and the importance of pajamas in ensuring a good night's sleep.


    Research and stay up-to-date on relevant topics and trends in children's health and sleep.


    2. Writing and Editing:

    Write clear, concise, and well-structured articles that resonate with parents, caregivers, and the community.


    Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, grammar, and consistency.


    3. Collaboration:

    Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to align content with Pajama Jams' messaging and campaigns.


    Interview experts, volunteers, and families impacted by Pajama Jams' mission to create compelling stories.


    4. Publishing and Promotion:

    Prepare articles for publication on Pajama Jams' website, blog, and social media platforms.


    Assist in creating promotional materials for blog posts and articles to increase visibility and engagement.


    Qualifications:

    • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
    • Strong understanding of kids' health, sleep, and wellness topics.
    • Passion for child well-being and a good understanding of Pajama Jams' mission.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
    • Experience in blogging or writing on similar topics (preferred but not required).

    Time Commitment: The time commitment for this role can vary, but volunteers are expected to contribute at least 2-5 hours per week. The schedule is flexible to accommodate volunteers' availability.
